The Coylet Inn - On the banks of Loch Eck
Argyll is an area noted for its beautiful scenery and diverse wildlife. The area immediately surrounding The Coylet, within the Argyll Forest Park, is popular with hill walkers, cyclists, fisherman and stalkers, as well as those simply looking to get away from it all.

The legendary paper caves are but a short boat ride across the loch,  and a medium difficulty hike away, with the right directions! Even to this day, few know where they are, or realise their historic importance in the local area, let alone have they been privilidged to know where to go in order to locate them.

We are also only 2 miles from Benmore Botanical Gardens, the magical Pucks Glen, or if you are feeling a little more adventurous, how about a little Quad Biking, archery, clay pigeon shooting, abseiling and many more activities? Quadmania have it all!

For a slightly slower pace, you could simply hire one of our boats and idle the day away on the beautiful Loch Eck surrounded by stunning scenery, perhaps bring a fishing rod, we can even provide a picnic.

We are approximately 10 miles from the centre of Dunoon, with its leisure centre, golf course, cinema and of course pubs! There are a good selection of shops for the size of the town, and some great places to have coffee or a spot of lunch, before perhaps walking along the waterfront and taking in yet more stunning scenery.

For those wanting to explore a little further afield, perhaps a drive to Inverary along the shores of Loch Fyne, and a visit to Inverary Jail, followed by a meal at the Famous Loch Fyne Oyster bar, or maybe you would rather visit Blair Drummond Safari Park or Oban Rare Breeds Farm Park.

Whatever you fancy, our location means you are never far away from something to do, but far enough away to have a wonderfully relaxing break, in one of the most tranquil and stunning locations in Scotland.
